In fact, two angles of louvers are used in each external grille section, each with a different purpose.
General Features:
MagicPak Louver Kit, Extruded, For Use With: MGE/MCE/MHP Series Heat Pump Unit.
Louvers point up on the upper section to direct discharge air away from intake air.
Louvers point down on lower section to direct water, dirt and debris away from unit.
Louvers can be removed from inside for cleaning, painting or repair.
